چکیده

Authors discuss novel approach to the management of fetal congenital pulmonary cystic malformation (CPAM) and possible benefit routine administration betamethasone, which is currently recommended only for severe cases. The article presents authors' own experience with antenatally diagnosed CPAM describes 4 cases prenatally without hydrops treated by two doses betamethasone at 21-31 weeks gestation aim improving perinatal prognosis effect on not mortality but also postnatal morbidity. Article summarizes current knowledge all aspects prenatal focusing its treatment options. Data were obtained from literature search based PubMed Scopus database additional particular articles reference list selected publications. All patients case reports showed regression mass after maternal 100 % survival rate. COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PERINATAL OUTCOME OF GROWTH RESTRICTED FETUSES IN HYPERTENSIVE MOTHERS VERSUS OTHER CA USATIVE FA CTORS

From July 1998 to November 1999 we have followed up 15712 deliveries (12044 vaginal and 3668 cesarean section) in our hospital. Among these, 182 cases were primarily diagnosed as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and 248 pregnancies were complicated with hypertensive disorders. In these two groups we have investigated the outcome of the neonates. Neonatal weight under the 10th percent...

I support the authors’ aim of improving perinatal outcome and it seems intuitive that preconception care involving the reduction of maternal risk factors would achieve a healthier outcome for mother and baby. However, before funding preconception counselling, one needs to be sure that it works. T...
